Paul Scholes scored his first Premier League goal at Portman Road in a 3-2 defeat against Ipswich Town in 1994. Eric Cantona was United’s other goalscorer that day in a match filmed by Visionsport. He was a member of Manchester United’s famous Class of 92 that included David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Nevilles brothers Gary and Phil. Scholes went on to become one of English football’s greatest ever midfielders, scoring 107 times in 499 appearances for Manchester United. He also scored 14 goals in 66 England appearances. Famous for taking no prisoners on the football pitch, Scholes has been just as hard-hitting as a football pundit since retiring from playing for the second time in 2013.
