WHEN will the reality sink in that England just aren’t good enough to win a major tournament? The honest truth is that England are going backwards fast – and things look like getting worse.

After tonight’s boring goal-less draw against Montenegro at Wembley it is going to be tough to qualify never mind triumph at Euro 2012.

With Wayne Rooney a pale shadow of the player we all know he should be – and no midfield creator even close to replacing Paul Scholes, Fabio Capello is facing mission impossible.

There is still time to make a difference. But do not take qualification for granted. This is going to be a real test of England’s spirit.
